Caerleon Nursery
Learn, Play, Develop
Throughout the day children dictate their learning through open ended experiences provided by qualified staff. We understand the importance of each individual child’s needs and different rates of development, giving each child the care and attention that they need. The base rooms are equipped to promote and enhance the learning and stages of development of your child. Combined with our enthusiastic staff we create a caring, happy and homely environment with staff ratios that are always adhered to.
2 Free Settling in Sessions
There are age appropriate base rooms in the nursery, each equipped to meet the needs of the children in that particular age group. Before you begin your journey with us, we invite you to visit the nursery, on a guided tour from our management team, highlighting key aspects of our service and answering any questions you may have, so that you feel confident in your decision to join us. Once admission forms are completed and deposits received we will arrange 2 free settling in sessions to ensure your little one and you are comfortable with our team before your child’s first day.
When your child is approaching moving to another room we discuss this with you first and show you around the room meeting the staff. Your child will then have settling in / transition sessions before moving up. We have excellent home nursery links so you’ll be kept well informed about your child’s day. We have parent consultation afternoons and you’ll have opportunities whenever is convenient for you to discuss your child’s progress.
Well-being & Nutrition
Nutrition is important to us and we endeavour to give your child balanced healthy meals through out the day. All food is prepared on the premises from fresh produce. We provide your preferred weaning foods or how you wish the nursery menu to be served to your child. We have awards for providing healthy balanced snacks and meals.
Babies
From Birth
Our babies are cared for in several rooms in the nursery depending on their age and stage of development. Babies develop quickly and our baby rooms reflect this with age appropriate equipment and activities to stimulate and encourage this development. Our fully qualified experienced staff are part of this, nurturing and caring for them as they meet their individual milestones maintaining ratios of 1:3.
Separate Baby Rooms
The baby rooms are separated as mobile and non mobile babies. We don’t allow outdoor shoes in any of our baby rooms and have shoe covers for visiting parents.
The baby room is fully equipped with a kitchen for preparing feeds and drinks. We have separate nappy changing area with hand wash sink and cosy cot rooms for daytime naps.
Tell Us Your Child’s Routine
Your child’s routine is set by you, so your child is settled between home and nursery. Our gentle, relaxed homely environment helps with this and children settle in quickly. We provide all meals and refreshments, irrespective whether it’s formula, breastmilk, weaning foods or our own freshly prepared and cooked meals. All we need from you is nappies and formula / breastmilk if using, we provide everything else. We use an app to keep parents up to date on their child’s day
We endeavour to have settled happy parents as well as happy settled children.

Toddlers
From 2 Years Old
Your child starts in the toddler room when they are 2 years old. When your child is approaching their second birthday they will start to have settling in sessions so that it is familiar to them. The ratio of staff to children in this room is 1:4. Staff will discuss this move with you so you can become familiar with the staff and the room. You will also then have the opportunity to discuss your child’s routine so this is again mirrored in this room.
Stimulating the Imagination
The toddler base room is a large play space dedicated to a wide variety of play and learning opportunities to help continue to develop skills stimulating their imagination. With areas such as role play, messy play and construction areas the children are free to explore and investigate the world around them at their own pace.
Experienced qualified staff set opportunities and activities that encourage confidence and independence. The children are then ready to learn when they move to the preschool room aged 3 years.
Kitchen & Bathroom
There is a kitchen area in the toddler room for refreshments throughout the day as the child requires, meals are taken in the dining room with the rest of the nursery children.
They have their own bathroom with nappy changing area and with child friendly toilets and sinks to help that important step of moving out of nappies.
